SunnyDays Occupational Therapy specializes in treating children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Our team is dedicated to providing excellent care to children of all ages. We strive to help children reach their maximum potential by using a variety of techniques and approaches that makes learning fun!
After meeting you and your child, we develop a specialized treatment plan that will cater to your child's needs. Our team is trained to develop optimal teaching methods for your child based on their personality and unique needs. Goal areas that are often targeted include self care skills such as dressing, tying shoes, brushing teeth, washing face, bathing/showering, combing hair, feeding, and a variety of other self help and grooming skills. Fine motor skills are also addressed, including developing strength and coordination in hands for grasp, writing, coloring, drawing, playing, and cutting. Gross motor skills often include jumping, running, hopping, crawling, rolling, climbing, catching and throwing, and riding a tricycle or bike. Sensory integration issues are also addressed, and sensory diets may be established for your child, based on their needs.
Our staff understands that autism is a complex disorder and it affects each child and their family in a different way. By specializing exclusively in the treatment of children with autism, our staff receives specific training geared towards treating primarily this population. Each child is different, but our years of hands-on experience has provided us with the skills and resources needed to teach your child to function at his or her most optimal level.
